Of the estimated 9000 plants introduced to this country, 198 are currently classified as being invasive.
It is estimated that these plants cover about 10% of the country and the problem is growing at an exponential rate. If we do not clear invading alien plants in 10 to 20 years we will lose 30% of our run-off to rivers. In 20 to 40 years 74% will be lost.
